Aussies can watch Shadowhunters via Netflix

It was announced early this morning that Neflix had bought the Global Rights to the Shadowhunters TV series (read the article here). What this means is that Aussies now have a means to watch the show pretty much with the rest of the fandom around the world! Ok, maybe a day later (Wednesdays) but that's better than nothing!.

Shadowhunters on Netflix will premiere on the 13th January 2016 (a day after the US) from 7:01pm AEST!. It will air weekly after that (again, a day after the US).

For those who are new to the streaming content world and don’t know what Netflix is, here is a little Netflix 101 for you.

Netflix is a Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) service that allows people to watch movies and TV shows that are on their catalogue on any internet-connected device.

How much does it cost?
There are 3 plans: Each plan gives you a different level of video quality and a set number of streams (the number of devices you can watch Netflix at the same time)

  • Plan 1: $8.99AU per month, which gives you all content in SD format, but only on one device at a time.
  • Plan 2: $11.99AU per month, which gives you two streams of HD content (probably the most popular choice)
  • Plan 3: $14.99AU per month, which gives you four streams of Ultra HD 4K content.
**All new subscribers will get the first month of viewing free**

How do I get it?
You can watch Netflix on nearly any internet-connected device, including a smart TV, computer, tablet PC and smartphone. Netflix is also compatible with Apple TV and Google Chromecast.

Apps are available for iOS, Android and Windows, as well as second-generation Fetch TV and gaming consoles, like PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and Nintendo’s Wii U.
