The Mortal Instruments Party in New York City

I have to say, right now I'm very jealous! Whilst I'm posting this up on my blog, there are a bunch of shadowhunters/industry peeps partying it up with Cassandra Clare at The Mortal Instruments Party being held at the Angel Orensanz Foundation of Contemporary Art, New York (It is the oldest surviving Synagogue in NY - there's some trivia for ya!).

Check out the photo's from the event so far (Click on the photo for a better look!):

MTV's Video Interview with Jamie Campbell Bower about Jace

It's 1:29min of Jamie Campbell Bower goodness. He is being interviewed by MTV's Joshua Horowitz (@joshuahorowitz) who asks him about playing Jace.

It's funny that he describes Jace as being a 'Douchebag' and then shortly after, we see/hear the lovely Cassie Clare say that Jamie "personality wise, is exactly like Jace" so really, Jamie is calling himself a Douchebag lol

Last thing to say is: Jamie is Jace. Period.

The Shadowhunter's Codex

Description: Delve into the details of all things Shadowhunter with this illustrated guide to the knowledge and lore of the Shadowhunter world.

Since the thirteenth century, the Shadowhunter's Codex has been the one and only manual for Shadowhunters looking to brush up on their demon languages, learn proper stele use, and discover just what exactly a pyxis is. Featured in both The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices, this guide is a necessity for any young Nephilim on their journey to becoming a Shadowhunter. Beautifully illustrated, the Codex contains images of the famous Shadowhunter homeland of Idris, as well as depictions of demons and other Downworlders.

But this isn't just any copy of The Shadowhunter's Codex. It's Clary's copy, and as an artist herself, she's sketched pictures of her friends and family in the book, and scrawled helpful advice in the margins. Of course, she couldn't exactly stop Jace or Simon from adding their thoughts either. Part encyclopedia, part history, part training manual-complete with commentary from Shadowhunters who have seen it all-this beautiful guide is a perfect supplement to the #1 New York Times bestselling series.

Pre-Order (Available from 29th October 2013)
Please note: There is the normal and special edition
(The special edition comes in a beautiful slipcase with luxurious detailing that matches its historic importance. It’s as much a work of art as a training manual)
Where to buy: From the major US online bookstores and locally, from Booktopia.com.au, Bookworld.com.au, Angus & Robertson.com.au, and fishpond.com.au.
Price: Around $17 - 30 AUD for the normal edition and $27 - 58 for the special edition (both prices are w/o shipping)
Do they ship to Australia: (Check the websites for details. Some have free shipping)

The secret ‘Mortal Instruments’ project revealed - Jamie is Jace video tribute!

I had to write a blog post about this because this is special... I am amazed at how passionate, loyal and super supportive the global TMI fandom is and how proud I am to be part of it.

The 'secret' project came about in response to Jamie Campbell Bower's honest admission that the initial negative fan reaction got to him: "It's deeply hurtful" he said, in a interview with Collider.com (read the interview transcript here). From what I've read and seen, they could've cast a more perfect Jace. You can see how dedicated and committed he is to the whole project, it's almost palpable... like juicy mango (sorry, couldn't help referencing the Mango :P). My heart went out to him and it seems I wasn't the only one who felt this way...

Enter Fangirlish with Page to Premiere, TMI Source, Mundie Moms and Hypable who all came together with one purpose - let's show him the TMI fandom support him 100% and agree that #JamieIsJace! They all rallied the fandom and asked fans to send in photo's of themselves holding a sign, showing their support.

They received hundreds and hundreds of submissions! The first 300 or so were included in a video tribute which you can check out below. The rest of the photo's can be found here: http://mortalinstrumentslove.com/

Fangirlish will be putting together a photo album to be given to Jamie at ComicCon in July.

What a beautiful idea from a wonderful fandom to a well deserving actor :P

Here is the fantastic video tribute - Project Jamie is Jace:

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones producer tweets preview of movie merchandise

@mmoszkowicz posted a pic on twitter of a movie merchandise on a table like a tasty buffet! The presentation right of the photo gives us a clue where and when our fellow United States showdowhunter will be able to get their hands on some TMI merch! (from what I can see, so far CVS and Walmart will stock these items). For us Aussies, I think our only option would be to buy online or the ever reliable eBay.

(Click to enlarge for a closer look :P)

Update: @mmoszkowicz retweeted one of my tweets! Here is the screenshot... (Glad he has a sense of humour :)

Magnus Bane - Official City of Bones Character Poster

This was the poster I was waiting for...

As with the Valentine movie poster reveal, @MortalMovie has done it again! Eventually revealing (after a series of tweets) to be the glitter loving, sexy warlock Magnus Bane.

Here is how it all went down (each pic was a tweeted roughly 1 hour apart):

The final tweet reveals the magnificent High Warlock of Brooklyn - Magnus Bane

From the movie stills and video clips I've seen, Godfrey Gao is perfectly cast to play our favourite warlock! Those smouldering eyes, the tone of his voice *fans self* I don't think he will dissapoint :)
